Hospitals choose water-cooled because the absence of exhaust air means no room-to-room cross contamination. Contractors choose water-cooled because access to running water is the easiest choice for many projects and additions. Vaults and secured rooms choose watercooled because putting large air ducts through the walls may be impossible where ½” water lines are acceptable. The colder the water is as it enters the machine, the more heat that water will accept before reaching exit temp, and the fewer gallons per min the machine will use. Water exiting the machine can be drained (Single-pass system), or recirculated by various types of chillers, or cooling tower systems.
